Please include a switch in Settings or on the toolbar that allows the user to select whether they want single or double quotation marks for dialogue, and to update the document / project consistently if clicked.
I would desperately adore having a toggle for smart vs dumb quotation marks. While the pretty, curly “smart” ones are nice and I would love to use them, for some reason in my writing, I often will get the wrong ones pointing in locations so it looks not-smart. Pleaseplease. Let me have my dumb ones so it’s one less headache.

I just read that in Britain, they use single quotes for dialogue, whereas in the USA, we use double quotes. I did not know that.

Yes, that’s the reason I asked for this. UK English has a few differences, and this is one of them.
