Some features I would like to see added to rewrite that it does not currently do well

1) rewrite character - oops I made a mistake or need to make a change to a character in story bible but I already generated content with that character. Let rewrite update the scene to reflect the character changes while leaving the prose mostly the same.

2) rewrite perspective/tense: Sometimes there are errors, or maybe I just want to switch the perspective of the book/scene. Rewrite, but “make it past tense” or “POV should be third person- limited rather than first person”.

3) Rewrite with extra information: Great scene but my characters seem to know too much about ____ when they shouldn’t. Rewrite the scene but exclude any reference to information X, the characters don’t know about that.

    I think something that would be very beneficial is global rewrite. So if there is a fact in the story wrong, then the AI should be able to correct that fact in all the places that it appears. Gemini 2.5 does this well, where you insert the whole story as input and tell it to correct some fact than it does it everywhere in the story and writes all the dialog and narrative so it makes sense with the new truth in the story.
