Point of View Settings and Integration in Quick Edit

Currently, many of the writing tools are only partially integrated with the POV for the drafts or chapters/outline; sometimes the quick edit struggles for some reason with correctly writing the point of view even with instructions for it.

Sometimes, it spontaneously starts mixing second person and first person.

Thanks for the suggestion! Have you tried using Chat after Quick Edit to get the POV you want? Remember, Chat doesn't use credits if High Quality is turned off

I mainly am making the suggestion because I’d rather not have to continually re-insert my prompt for “this character is the point of view character, and this needs to be written in the X person Y tense perspective.”

Often times, I am providing instructions that are “A character does such thing and B character responds; write their dialogue about Z.” which without sufficient context tends to either start out in the tense and third person perspective that I’m using to describe the instructions or tends to morph into it with repetitive prompting.

I often prefer that the stories are written in first person present tense despite the fact that I am providing instructions from the third person possibly with a mismatched tense.

I haven’t tried using chat after quick edit, and I am frankly drawing a blank on how that is supposed to work or be relevant, but I trust that there’s something you know about that work-around that is non-obvious to me. I tend to either use chat XOR quick edit; I don’t find them to be particularly useful together though I will sometimes use chat to produce an outline then go along and quick edit it into shape.

But I find the chat is often too contextually limited to be used for outlines like this given the complexities of the characters, situations, relations, and technical details of the hard sci fi or deep philosophy of my writing.

Recently, I’ve realized that I have to continually fight with the chat because it wants to normalize all the characters as having emotional existence and experience or singlet experience or neuronormativity of some kind, so when I’m writing my low affective empathy and emotionally void character, it continually mismodels the character fundamentally even when the character has annotations about the fact that they experience sensation and cognition without experiencing emotion.
