Overused Phrases
If there was a section you could put words or phrases you don’t want used that would be helpful. There are a few that get overused or I just don’t like the way it sounds. It would be nice if I could just say not to use it, and then it would find other ways to write it. That way my words aren’t getting used on words and phrases I don’t like.

Agreed. I was just about to post the following (similar) suggestion: “I would like to be able to eliminate specific phrases or terms which seem to be repeated often when using "write" or "rewrite" functions. For example, from a 1,000 word suggestion, the phrase "tousled hair” is repeated four times.”

Yes please! Any progress on a blacklisting function? I feel I have to keep instructing the AI on this. I put it under braindump, style, and ask to rewrite the outline using these instructions and it still doesn’t always come out the way I want. My current instructions now say:
Write in past tense, third person limited omniscient point of view. Focus on teasing and humiliation. Strictly follow the style, outline, and scene instructions. Limit prose to each scene, do not mix or include prose from other scenes. Do not repeat any events, phrases, or descriptions unless specifically instructed to do so. Show don’t tell. Immerse readers in the characters’ experience. Use authentic, original dialogue and show physical reactions including body language and facial expressions to convey conflict, tension, and resolution.
Clearly identify each character whenever first introduced in the story including name, job or status, some background, physical appearance, clothing, makeup, etc. and any unique characteristics. Clearly identify each character whenever re-introduced in a scene noting any changes in their physical appearance, clothing, makeup, etc. and any unique characteristics. Use specific, detailed descriptions of characters with vivid imagery, rich sensory details—including their hair color, length, and style, eye color, height, body type, clothing, shoes, jewelry and makeup if appropriate—facial expressions, mannerisms, and other characters’ reactions to them. Use specific, detailed descriptions of characters with vivid imagery, rich sensory details—including their hair color, length, and style, eye color, height, body type, clothing, shoes, jewelry and makeup if appropriate—facial expressions, mannerisms, and other characters’ reactions to them. Use specific, detailed descriptions of settings, and furnishings with vivid imagery, rich sensory details, and their impact on the main characters.
Do not repeat any phrases unless specified. Avoid wordiness and empty phrases. No clichés! Do not use any trite, overused, hackneyed, predictable or unoriginal expressions, phrases, metaphors, or references such as “mix of” “blend of” “couldn’t help but” “found herself” “found himself” “mischievous glint” “At the end of the day” “think outside the box” “a dime a dozen” “mixture of” “breath caught” etc.

Ideally, the AI would automatically avoid repeating phrases throughout the text, as well as avoid clichés and trite prose. I am experimenting with “beats” and style instructions to improve quality of prose.
