Accessibility Enhancements
We just made some changes that will dramatically improve the Sudowrite user experience for folks using screen readers.
For starters, we've improved or added screen reader labels for:
Home page
- Settings menu
- Help menu
- Credit symbol in Recent Activity
- Create New Project
- Story Bible, Canvas, and Project Action icons on the Project card
Editor
- Write, Rewrite, and Describe dropdowns
- Create New Document and Import
- History card actions: Like, Dislike, Add to Favorites
- Collapse icons for the left bar, right bar, and top menu
- Recent and Favorites in the History (Right) Bar
- Copy to Clipboard and History in Story Bible
Additionally, projects on the Project list are now labeled as projects, and include a title at the top level. Several redundant icons have also been hidden from screen readers to reduce the amount of non-interactive elements and streamline the experience.
